MARECHAL CARMONA PARK - CASCAIS

The “Marechal Carmona Park” is a unique space in Cascais’ Town that combines two estates – the garden of the Palace of the Castro Guimarães Count and the property of Viscount of Gandarinha. The Park offers a unique tranquillity only concede by vast lawns, lakes, a grove with tall trees and pathways that allows new perspectives and discoveries, ideal for picnics and to play traditional games.

A section of the “Ribeira dos Mochos”, one of the main water lines of Cascais county and the Municipal Children and Youth Library can also be found here.

To boost the activities in the “Marechal Carmona Park” during the nightfall, the municipality of Cascais decided to replace the old lighting system (made of traditional sodium vapor lamps) to LED technology, much more efficient and eco-friendly. The main objectives were to find a sustainable solution that could brighten the area, creating several scenarios in the Park and that would consume less energy and decrease the CO2 emissions.
