Arquiled’s international expansion begins in Colombia
Building on its investment in Colombia, Arquiled will take part in the 1st International Congress on Public Lighting, organized by the Asociación Nacional de Alumbrado Público (ANAP), in Bogotá on August 14–15, as well as at ExpoCamacol in Medellín from August 22–25, where it will present its successful projects.
Arquiled, a Portuguese company that manufactures and develops LED lighting solutions and a leader in the public lighting sector in Portugal, is present in more than 150 municipalities and has installed over 150,000 LED luminaires in the past four years. The company is now expanding internationally with the opening of an office in Bogotá, Colombia.
The investment in the Colombian market stems from the company’s belief in the opportunity to bring LED technology to Colombian cities, as well as Bogotá’s growing reputation as a technological hub for international companies.
According to António Calado da Costa, Executive Director of Arquiled Colombia, “the investment in Colombia was the result of an in-depth study of several countries, particularly in Latin America, where the Colombian market showed similarities with the Portuguese market and a greater appetite for smart lighting solutions.”
In Portugal, the company, headquartered in Mora, Alentejo, develops products and solutions focused on connectivity, intelligence, and energy efficiency, with the goal of integrating them into Smart Cities to promote sustainability and safety in urban environments. In terms of energy efficiency, the focus is on optimized management of operational resources and improved return on investment. Regarding sustainability, the goal is to save financial resources, reduce CO2 emissions, and decrease light pollution.
The company’s pioneering public lighting projects provide municipalities with guaranteed total energy savings of up to 80%, while ensuring full maintenance of all luminaires throughout the contract period. However, there is another crucial factor that cannot be measured financially but carries immense value: properly illuminated streets lead to reduced crime and, naturally, an increased sense of safety among citizens.
